School Events and Resources

Resources:
These resources are perfect for your classroom, book club, library, or home.

Author Visits:

I am available for school assemblies, class presentations, and class activities in and around Vancouver, Washington.

Not in the Pacific Northwest? No problem! Contact me about setting up a class presentation via Skype. I may also be available to travel for your event.

Here are my standard offerings, but I can customize an event for your school's needs. For more information, to schedule a school visit, or to ask about my rates, email me at bylaurelgale@gmail.com.

The Writing Process: There's more to writing than writing! Students learn that the writing process involves separate stages: brainstorming, organizing, writing, and revising. For professional authors, there are more stages: submission, publication, and promotion. This can be done as a school assembly or as a class presentation.

Class Presentation: This presentation is designed for one class of about thirty students. It includes a reading from my books, an interactive look at what it’s really like to be a writer, and a discussion.

School Assembly: This presentation is designed for a large audience. It includes a reading from my books, an interactive look at what it’s really like to be a writer, and a Q&A session. It's like the class presentation, but tweaked for a bigger audience.

Writing Workshops: These workshops work well for classes of thirty students or smaller. Each workshop focuses on a different aspect of creative writing. Students learn the basics before completing activities.
